Osian (Osiyan) is an ancient town located approximately 65 km (40 miles) away from Jodhpur city. It is known for its ancient temple ruins and exclusive camel safaris There is a group of eighteen derelict 8th century Brahmanical and Jain temples, out of which the Sun Temple, Kali temple, Sachiya Mata Temple and the main Jain temple stand out in their elegance and design. The town was a religious centre of the kingdom of Marwar.


The terrain is a combination of uneven sand dunes, dirt roads and desert shrubbery. Each camp has its own uniqueness and style. In the quiet of the morning, you may spot an Indian Chinkara deer strolling through the camp.


The grounds surrounding the camp are full of wild life like the Indian Peacock, partridge, quail, doves and varied flora. Camel safaris are operated by local farmers who are cheerful and friendly and have extensive knowledge of the dunes and accompany you on the camel ride.
