A Journey to the Hermit Kingdom

DAY 1– DELHI - Arrive in Delhi, the capital of India. You will be met by our representative at the airport and transferred to your hotel. Stay overnight at a hotel in central Delhi. Spend the rest of the day at leisure.

DAY 2– DELHI & OVERNIGHT BUS (B) – Morning sightseeing of Old Delhi. Afternoon transfer to the New Delhi bus stand near Connaught Place at 17:00, to board the overnight air-conditioned Volvo Bus to Manali.

DAY 3 – MANALI - On arrival at Manali Mall Road bus stand you will be met by our representative and transferred to your hotel for a two- night stay. The rest of the day you are free to take in optional sightseeing of Manali.

DAY 4 – MANALI (B) - Explore Manali at your own time and pace. There are a number of optional activities like visiting Old Manali, Hadimba Temple or Naggar Fort. Alternatively you can opt for an excursion to the Solang Valley to try your skills at gliding or zorbing, or take a dip in the Vashisht hot springs.

DAY 5 - KEYLONG (BD) - It’s just 120 km from Manali to Keylong, but involves a 7-hour journey, so you will make an early start from Manali. On your route, you will cross the famous Rohtang pass (at 13,400 ft.), the magnificent slopes of Solang Nallah and Marhi. You spend the night at a tented camp in Keylong.

DAY 6 - KEYLONG/ LEH (BD) - Depart early for Leh, also known as the “Roof of the world”. On this 9-hour drive you will pass through 21 hair pin bends (also called as Gata Loops) and two passes – the first is Lachalung la at 16,400 feet and then Tanglang la at 17,560 feet. You then enter the main Ladakh vale. Stay for two nights in a guesthouse/hotel in Leh.

DAY 7 - LEH (BD) – The morning is yours to relax and acclimatize. In the afternoon, you will go for a half-day sightseeing comprising of Shanti Stupa, Sankar Monastery, Leh Palace & the local market.

DAY 8 - ULEYTOKPO (BLD) - Drive to Uleytokpo, approx. 70 km (3 hrs. drive) from Leh. On the way you will visit the Pathar Sahib, Sangam Point, Alchi monastery & Rizong monastery and Chulichan nunnery. After a long day, have a good night’s rest at a deluxe camp in Uleytokpo.

DAY 9 - LEH (BD) - After a quick breakfast, drive to the Lamayuru monastery & Moon land view. From here, you will be driven back to Leh where you will spend the night.

DAY 10 - NUBRA VALLEY (BLD) - Post breakfast, a 5-hour drive will take you to Nubra Valley en route to the Khardungla pass, the World Highest Motorable road at 18,630 feet. Visit the extensive white sand dunes at Hunder and then proceed to the deluxe camp for an overnight stay.

DAY 11 - LEH (BD) - Visit the Diskit and Samstaling monastery. Between visits to the two monasteries squeeze in a camel ride on the dunes if you wish. You return through the Khardungla pass to Leh where you will spend the night.

DAY 12 - LEH (BD) - A 6-hour day trip (155 km) to Pangong Lake via Changla pass at 17,590 feet awaits you. Pangong Lake is located at 14,000 feet and is considered one of the most scenic places on earth. You return to your hotel in Leh to spend the last night in this Hermit Kingdom.

DAY 13 - FLIGHT (B) - Transfer from your hotel to Leh airport for your flight to Delhi. The tour ends on arrival at the Leh Airport.
 

Tour Includes:

  • AC Sleeper Volvo Bus tickets for Delhi/Manali.
  • Accommodation on a twin sharing basis depending with meals as per the itinerary (B=Breakfast, L=Lunch, D=/Dinner).
  • Private Tour transport for Day 5 & Day 6 by Non AC Scorpio or Toyota Innova.
  • Camp fire evening at Uleytokpo.
  • Private Non AC transport for the sightseeing tours as per the itinerary (Scorpio or Toyota Innova)
  • Inner Line Permit & wildlife fees to visit Restricted Areas like Nubra Valley & Pangong.
  • Arrival & Departure transfer as per the itinerary.
  • All current applicable taxes
     

Tour Excludes:

  • Flight cost for sector Leh/Delhi which will be purchased on an instant purchase fare basis at the time of the confirmation of the tour. Flight tickets once issued will be non-refundable.
  • Entrance fees to any monuments or museums that are visited on the itinerary.
  • Expenses of a personal nature such as tips, insurance, laundry, phone calls, and all beverages whether alcoholic or non-alcoholic.
  • Any excursions other than those mentioned in the itinerary.
  • “Extra Meals Ordered” other than specified at the time of start of the tour.
  • Use of the tour vehicle on leisure days or on completion of a sightseeing tour.
  • Any additional costs that may occur as a result of changes in the itinerary due to flight cancellations, bad weather, illness, roadblocks and/or any factors beyond our control.
  • Travel Insurance (Compulsory for your benefit)
     

Points to be noted:

  • Instead of the overnight Delhi/Manali bus, you can opt to fly from Delhi to Kullu (Bhuntar airport). This will involve extra costs for the flight, an extra night in Manali or Delhi and the transfer from Kullu airport to Manali
  • Other services available on demand at extra cost are river rafting from Phey to Nimu and camel safari in Nubra Valley
  • Number of pax allowed on tour: Minimum 2 pax. Maximum pax 12
  • Please ensure that Day 5 is not a Tuesday as the Rohtang pass is closed.
