The South India Special


DAY 1 – KOCHI – On arrival at Kochi airport, you will be met and transferred to your hotel at Fort Cochin for a two-night stay in a boutique hotel.

DAY 2 – KOCHI - Half-day sightseeing of Fort Kochi & Mattancherry including the Dutch Palace, Chinese Fishing nets & Jewish Synagogue. In the evening enjoy an exquisite Kathakali dance performance.

DAY 3 - TEEKOY - This morning, you depart for Teekoy, home to many plantations. Relax for two nights at a quiet plantation homestay and simply enjoy a variety of authentic Kerala cuisine.

DAY 4 – TEEKOY - Free day for various optional activities suggested by the host like visiting the nearby family rubber plantation to better understand the process of making rubber sheets or enjoy a swim in the natural pool at the plantation. Enjoy some time in the kitchen learning a few local delicacies like pickle & curries. 

DAY 5 – THEKKADY – A scenic drive through the Western Ghats takes you to Thekkady and the Periyar Wild life Reserve, where you stay the night in a resort located on the edge of the Reserve.

DAY 6 – MADURAI – After lunch, you drive to the temple city of Madurai, where you enjoy two nights at a comfortable hotel close to the world famous Meenakshi Temple. In the evening, walk to the nearby Meenakshi market.

DAY 7 – MADURAI – Spend the morning with a half-day sightseeing tour of Madurai. Your afternoon can be spent exploring the place on your own. Evening take a cycle rickshaw ride to the Meenakshi temple for the night ceremony.

DAY 8 – TIRUCHIRAPALLY – Drive to Tiruchirapally, also known as Trichy. You stay for a night here in a city hotel. In the afternoon, you head out for an orientation tour of Trichy. Return to the hotel for a good night’s rest. 

DAY 9 – TRANQUEBAR – You depart for Tranquebar, also known as the Land of the Singing Waves and a former Danish colony. You have the afternoon at your leisure to explore the various sights that the place has to offer. You stay the night at a heritage hotel that was once home to a Danish aristocrat.

DAY 10 – PONDICHERRY – After breakfast, you head to Pondicherry, a former French colony north of Tranquebar. You stay the night in a seafront property.

DAY 11 – MAMALLAPURAM – In the morning, you have some time at leisure to further explore Pondicherry. After lunch, you depart for Mamallapuram, where you visit the shore temples and see the Krishna Butterball, before heading to the hotel, where you stay for two nights.

DAY 12 – MAMALLAPURAM – You have the full day at leisure to enjoy and further discover this coastal town.

DAY 13 – KOVALAM – This morning, you depart to Chennai Domestic Airport, to board your flight to Trivandrum. On arrival in Trivandrum airport, you will be met and transferred to your hotel on the beach front in South Kovalam, where you stay for three nights.

DAY 14 & DAY 15 – KOVALAM – Two full days at leisure to enjoy the best beach in Kerala and its amazing sea food. 

DAY 16  - ALLEPPEY – Drive from South Kovalam to Alleppey. Overnight at a heritage hotel right in front of Alleppey Beach.

DAY 17 – FLIGHT – You will be transferred to Kochi Airport, to board your flight for your onward journey.

CANCELLATION POLICY: (from start date of the tour)

  • 4 months (120 days) and above – 10% cancellation applies
  • 119 days to 90 days – 20% cancellation applies
  • 89 days to 30 days – 50% cancellation
  • Less than 29 days – 100% cancellation
  • After commencement of the tour if you cancel due to some reasons, the tour becomes non-refundable.
  • Flight cancellation will depend on the actual cancellation charges by the airline & Rustic India service charge.
  • Amendments to the itinerary at the time of travel are not recommended. However, if the need arises then the extra costs involved will be borne by you. Any cancellations to the original itinerary will be non-refundable.
